SPEAKERS:

Maxime Simoen
Partner, Auditor / Qualified Actuary, Mazars
Maxime has 20 years of professional experience in Audit and Consulting. He owns an extensive knowledge of IFRS 17 and is the leader of Mazars IFRS 17 Project, as well as a member of the EFRAG’s Insurance Accounting Working Group. Maxime was responsible for IFRS 17 Gap Analysis and implementation for a French Bank insurer and audit of the first steps of the IFRS 17 Project for several French Insurers (contract classification, chart of accounts, transition strategy etc.) He is also in charge of coordination of the financial and actuarial audit for several international insurance groups. Areas of his expertise include Solvency 2 / Internal Model review, Reserving, and Due Diligence.

Eglé Mockaityte
Senior Manager, Financial Reporting Standards, Mazars
Eglé joined Mazars’ Financial Reporting Advisory Department in 2011 after spending several years within the Finance department of Crédit Agricole CIB. She is an expert in advising on accounting treatment of financial instruments and related disclosures under IFRS and French accounting standards. Eglé works with clients in the financial services sector (banking and insurance) both in consulting assignments and audit; she has been much involved in IFRS 9 transition assignments during the last few years. She is a member of the Financial Instruments working groups of the ANC, the French accounting standards authority, and the CNCC, etc.
As an expert in IFRS standards on financial instruments (IFRS 9 / IAS 39 / IAS 32 / IFRS 7), Eglé supports various assignments dealing with the application of IFRS 9, IAS 39, IAS 32 and IFRS 7 within the banking and insurance industry. She is also an expert on insurance contracts in IFRS 17.

Alice Thou
Senior Manager, Actuarial, Mazars
After 2 years as a Financial Auditor in the Mazars Paris Office, Alice joined the Actuarial Consulting Department in 2010, where she has gained strong experience in the Life Insurance sector working with Chief Actuarial Officers and Chief Risk Officers both from major international insurance companies and mutual insurers. She has in-depth knowledge of actuarial valuation (M&A, Embedded Value), ALM modeling, risk management (ORSA, governance) and Solvency 2 (internal model, standard formula).Thanks to her dual expertise in financial reporting and actuarial sciences, she oversees the IFRS 17 actuarial working group within Mazars and helps insurers in implementation of the Standard. She graduated from ESSEC Business School and Centre d'Etudes Actuarielles.
